Rey Chavez Distributor a new ‘one-stop’ wholesale/retail shopping experience in Miami, FL. The new 700,000 sq. ft. opened July 1, at 3400 NW 62 Street in the 62nd Street area that at one time had been the heart of Miami’s wholesale grocery district.
400,000 sq. ft. within the new complex are devoted primarily to the retail shopping experience. Inside the store shoppers will find many of the amenities found in the traditional supermarkets along with the larger sizes and packs typically found in club stores or from grocery wholesalers. Membership is required, however, it is free and enrollment is easy. Store departments include: Groceries, Meat, Produce, Frozen Foods, Seafood, Beer and Wine. A large cafeteria greets shoppers near the entrance, and across the customer service center. The temperature cooled produce-seafood area is separate from the main grocery area and accessed by an attractively merchandised entrance. Manager Wilder Padron heads a staff of approximately 60 associates at Rey Chavez #1.
The store is has been opened by owners Reynaldo Garcia and Juan Carlos Chavez. Together the duo also operates Rey Chavez #2 at 7800 West 8th Avenue in Hialeah. Headquarters for both stores are maintained in a large separate building within the new complex. Rey Chavez #1 is opened Monday– Saturday 6AM to 8PM. Sunday hours are: 8AM to 4PM.
